The main lodge is built from local spruce and has been carefully designed with solar panels, an overhanging roof and a number of south-facing windows, to ensure shade in the summer and warmth through the winter. WebBlachford Lake Lodge (BLL) is located directly underneath the auroral oval, the best place on earth to be for aurora watching. We are only accessible by bush plane on skis in the winter and floats in the summer; there are no roads to BLL. Due to our remote location there is no light pollution from nearby towns, cities, cabins, or road traffic.

The main attraction was to see the Aurora, a long held dream, and we were luck enough to see a wonderful display on our first night.
